TeamMapper – Collaborative Mind Mapping Web App

TeamMapper is a self-hosted web application for creating mind maps individually or with other people.

Participants access maps through a browser and can edit the same structure in real time. Administrators retain control over deployment, the PostgreSQL database, enabled functionality and the retention period for stored maps. The project provides a prepared container image and configuration for hosting your own instance.

This is free and open source software.

Key Features

• Create and host mind maps that are accessible from a standard web browser.
• Collaborate in real time using WebSockets and Yjs shared documents.
• Invite other participants with either view-only or modification access.
• Share mind maps using a generated URL or QR code.
• Add images, pictograms and hyperlinks to individual nodes.
• Customize nodes with colours, font properties and other visual formatting.
• Import and export mind maps using JSON and Mermaid formats.
• Export finished work as SVG, PDF or PNG files.
• Undo and redo edits and access numerous keyboard shortcuts.
• Choose from nine interface localizations, including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Japanese.
• Automatically delete stored maps after a configurable period, which defaults to 30 days.
• Run scheduled cleanup jobs manually or through the integrated task scheduler.
• Deploy the application using Docker Compose or its prepared container image.
• Store mind maps persistently in PostgreSQL and optionally secure database connections with SSL.
• Configure ports, database access, logging, retention and feature flags through environment variables and override files.
• Optionally generate mind maps through a configurable OpenAI or OpenAI-compatible service. This feature is disabled by default.
