Scran is a Wayland screen capture utility for taking screenshots and recording video.
It provides an interactive selection interface for choosing and adjusting capture regions, can place captured media on the clipboard, and supports writing image data to standard output for use in pipelines. Video recording can include audio through PipeWire, while display freezing helps users select changing on-screen content.
This is free and open source software.
