mochad – TCP gateway daemon for X10 home automation

mochad is a TCP gateway daemon that connects X10 home automation controllers to applications and computers on a network. It works with CM15A and CM15Pro controllers, which communicate over radio frequency and power lines, and the RF-only CM19A. The software makes compatible X10 equipment accessible without requiring every client to connect directly to the controller over USB.

Clients communicate with the daemon through a simple text-based TCP connection, allowing existing X10 installations to work with scripts, remote terminals and home automation software. Rather than being a complete smart home platform, mochad provides a bridge between physical controllers and software that sends commands or consumes device events. The default service port is 1099. It is also useful for troubleshooting wireless reception in an X10 installation.

This is free and open source software.
