The operating system is delivered as a versioned OCI container image. This approach enables atomic system upgrades and keeps the core operating system consistent, while Flatpak and Toolbox provide applications and development environments.

What's a Linux distribution ("distro")? |
| A distro provides the user with a desktop environment, preloaded applications, and ways to update and maintain the system.
