Jetty – provides a Web server and javax.servlet container

Jetty is an Open Source HTTP Servlet Server (Application Server) written in 100% Java. It is designed to be light weight, high performance, embeddable, extensible and flexible, thus making it an ideal platform for serving dynamic HTTP requests from any Java application.

Jetty can be embedded in devices, tools, frameworks, application servers, and clusters.

Jetty is used in a number of different products including Ubuntu, Liferay, Zimbra, the Yahoo Hadoop Cluster, Apache Geronimo, Alfresco, Google App Engine, Eclipse, and many others.
