InVesalius generates 3D medical imaging reconstructions based on a sequence of 2D DICOM files acquired with CT or MRI equipment.
Among the various tools InVesalius has advanced 3D visualization tools, using raycasting technique. It also has projection tools such as Maximum Intensity Projection (MaxIP or MIP),Minimum Intensity Projection (MinIP), Mean Intensity Projection (MeanIP), MIDA, Contour MaxIP and Contour MIDA.
This is free and open source software.

- DICOM-support including: (a) ACR-NEMA version 1 and 2; (b) DICOM version 3.0 (including various encodings of JPEG -lossless and lossy-, RLE).
