Evolution is an integrated email and personal information management application developed for the GNOME desktop. It brings together email, contacts, calendars, tasks and memos in a single interface, making it suitable for both personal and business use.
The program supports conventional email services as well as groupware environments. It can connect to multiple accounts and share information with online calendar and contact services, reducing the need to maintain separate applications for everyday communication and scheduling.
Evolution also provides message encryption and digital signatures through OpenPGP and S/MIME. Its integration with GNOME services makes it particularly attractive to users who prefer a desktop application that handles both correspondence and personal organisation.
