BSDRadius – Radius server

BSDRadius is an open source Radius server targeted for use in Voice over IP (VoIP) applications.

BSDRadius uses the library – pyrad – for lower level operations such as parsing attribute dictionaries and building accounting and authorization packets.

BSDradius is completely written in Python.

Features include:

• Radius – compliant AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting) server.
• Various database engines: MySQL, PostgreSQL (support for Oracle and SQLite is under development).
• CHAP-password authentication for H.323.
• Digest authentication for SIP.
• Vendor specific dictionary files (Cisco, Quintum). Works with other NASes, supporting Cisco style VSAs: GnuGK gatekeeper, Mera MVTS (including SIP-HIT module), Nextone.
• Easy to use custom module interface.
• Comfortable framework for building RADIUS applications.
• Logging of received, failed and rejected requests to separate files for easier later processing.
• Storing Radius server client data into database.
• Ready to use CLI RADIUS client.
