PiPedal transforms a Raspberry Pi or supported Ubuntu computer into a dedicated guitar effects processor. It provides a low-latency audio engine and a remote interface designed for controlling effects from a phone, tablet or desktop browser.
The software is intended for musicians who want to assemble a digital pedalboard using standard audio hardware. It supports USB audio interfaces and suitable Raspberry Pi audio HATs, allowing the computer to process an instrument signal through a configurable chain of effects.
PiPedal uses LV2 plugins for its audio processing, with a selection from the ToobAmp collection included. It also integrates neural amplifier modelling, allowing captured amplifier characteristics to be reproduced alongside conventional effects.
The responsive interface makes it practical to control a pedalboard during rehearsals and live performances without connecting a keyboard or monitor to the host computer.
This is free and open source software.
