Mealie is a self-hosted recipe manager that brings recipes, meal planning and shopping lists together in a browser-based application. It provides a central place for organising family recipes, collecting dishes from the web and planning what to cook.
The application is designed for individuals and households, with an interface that works on desktops, tablets and phones. Recipes can be entered manually or imported from websites, while a structured ingredients system helps with shopping lists and meal preparation.
Mealie also supports multiple groups and households. Users can share recipe collections while maintaining separate meal plans, shopping lists and integrations. This makes it useful for families who want to share recipes without combining every aspect of their meal planning.
The software has a Python backend and a Vue-based frontend. It can be deployed on a home server, NAS or other Linux system, with its REST API providing integration opportunities.
This is free and open source software.
