Norish is a self-hosted recipe application designed for households, families, and friends who want a shared place to manage recipes, plan meals, coordinate groceries, and cook together.

The project focuses on an intuitive, mobile-first experience and supports both web and mobile clients for collaborative day-to-day cooking workflows.

This is free and open source software.

  • Supports recipe import from images and short-form video sources such as YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok when AI features are enabled.
  • Generates nutritional information, allergy warnings, and metric to US unit conversions with optional AI providers.
  • Includes recurring groceries via NLP or manual setup.
  • Offers CalDAV synchronization for calendar integration.
  • Provides flexible authentication with OIDC, GitHub, Google, and first-time password bootstrap.
  • Includes an admin settings interface for runtime configuration and permission policies.
  • Supports internationalization with multiple languages including English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Korean, Polish, and Danish.
