LXQt is a lightweight Qt-based desktop environment.
LXQt is the product of the merge between LXDE-Qt, an initial Qt flavour of LXDE, and Razor-qt, a project aiming to develop a Qt based desktop environment with similar objectives as the current LXQt.
The environment is in an early stage of development.
Features include:
- Speed.
- Lightweight nature.
- Elegance.
- Good user interface consistency.
- Bottom panel which lets you launch applications, switch virtual desktops, and see what software’s running.
- Indicators – volume control, network applet, clock, input language switcher, and lots more that can be added.
- Useful utilities such as Qterminal, Screengrab tool, and QPS process explorer. Many other applications are standalone. ScreenGrab lets users create screenshots, and easily publish them on internet image hosting services.
- One-stop configuration application – the control panel lets you customize the environment.
