Liri – material design web browser

Liri is an open-source, cross-platform and material-design Chrome based web browser. The purpose of this web browser is to build a minimalist-looking modern web browser with the power of Chromium under the bonnet. But it removes lots of unnecessary features found in Chromium, and is very useful for machines with limited memory.

Liri is powered by QML-Material, a QML framework developed by Papyros, based on Google’s Material Design. The User Interface is aimed to be as minimal, clean, and meaningful as possible. Liri relies on QtWebEngine, the Qt web renderer based on Chromium.
While the web browser is in an early stage of development, it shows a lot of promise. There are packages available for Ubuntu, Debian and Arch. And it is the default web browser for Papyros, a pre-alpha Linux distribution which adheres to Google’s Material Design guidelines and is based on Arch Linux.

The name “liri” comes from the Albanian word for freedom.
