Kiwi IRC is a web based IRC client.
It’s designed to be simple to use.
The software is released under an open source license.
Features include:
- Themes – there are several themes included within Kiwi IRC to cover a wide use basis. Available themes:
- Relaxed – modern theme suitable for general users that adapts its layout to suit the screen or widget size.
- Basic – very similar to the relaxed theme but much more lightweight as its name suggests.
- CLI – this is a dark theme with a very simplistic view. It adapts its layout to suit the screen or widget size with an auto hiding nick list.
- Mini.
- Text styling.
- Enable Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) – secure communication between the server and browsers. SSL is a standard security protocol for establishing encrypted links between a web server and a browser in an online communication.
- Enable desktop notifications.
- Chat messages:
- Timestamps.
- Use 24-hour timestamps.
- Show emoticons
- Block new private messages.
- Show the autocomplete box
- Configure the number of messages in the scroll history.
- Alert / Notifications:
- Join/part channel notifications.
- Include join/part messages as activity.
- Mute sound notifications.
- User Scripts
- Plugins.
- Tested on Chrome, Chrome Mobile, Firefox, Internet Explorer 11, and Safari 9+ web browsers.
- Internationalization support – translations are available for many languages.
