Kaori is a desktop application for discovering, downloading and reading manga and comics. It uses GTK4 and libadwaita to provide a modern interface with gesture-based navigation and a choice of reading layouts.
The application integrates with Suwayomi, a manga server that provides access to comic libraries and online sources through extensions. Kaori can manage a local Suwayomi server or connect to an existing remote instance, allowing users to browse and read their collections from a dedicated desktop interface.
Kaori is designed for both online reading and maintaining an offline collection. Users can find titles, download chapters and organise their library without switching between separate applications.
The reading interface accommodates different comic formats, from conventional page-by-page manga to vertically scrolling webtoons. Keyboard shortcuts and touchpad gestures make navigation particularly convenient.
This is free and open source software.
