eAccelerator – PHP accelerator and optimizer

eAccelerator is a free and open-source PHP accelerator and optimizer derived from the MMCache extension for the PHP language. It increases the performance of PHP scripts by caching them in their compiled state, so that the overhead of compiling is almost completely eliminated.

eAccelerator also optimizes scripts to speed up their execution. eAccelerator typically reduces server load and increases the speed of PHP code by a factor of 1-10.

eAccelerator is based on Turck MMCache.

Features include:

• Provies a bytecode cache.
• Compatible with Zend Optimizer’s loader.
• Works in Fast-CGI mode.
• Supports PHP 4 and all PHP 5 thread-safe releases.
• Removes Docblocks from PHP scripts.
• Support for PHP 5.3.
