Ardesia – digital sketchpad software

Ardesia is an open source digital sketchpad software to make colored free-hand annotations with digital ink everywhere, record it and share on the network. This tool is easy to use, fast and quick to respond. You can draw upon the desktop or import an image and annotate it and redistribute your work to the world.

The tool facilitates the online presentations and demos showing in real time your computer screen to anyone in the network.

Ardesia has been designed with the Glade/GtkBuilder tool and it uses to draw the Cairo graphics library.

Features include:

• Make on-screen presentations and demos showing the computer screen in real time.
• Highlight interesting items with free hand annotations.
• Create tutorials and demos.
• Includes a sketchpad software that allow to free-hand draw geometrical shapes using the shape recognizer.
• Works with all the pointing device; mouse, touch screen, drawing tablet, wiimote whiteboard, or a commercial whiteboard.
• Supports live screencast streaming.
• Imports and exports artifacts using common file open formats.
• Save and reopen work in the Interactive Whiteboard Common File Format, an open format for the interactive whiteboard proposed by Becta.
