LibreOffice is a comprehensive desktop office suite developed by The Document Foundation. Its applications cover word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, vector graphics, databases and mathematical formulae.
The suite uses the OpenDocument Format as its native document standard while offering broad compatibility with Microsoft Office formats including DOCX, XLSX and PPTX. Documents can also be exported to formats including PDF and EPUB.
LibreOffice is highly extensible through templates, extensions and macros. Recent releases have added Markdown import and export, connectors in Writer and Calc, and numerous compatibility, accessibility and performance improvements.
