Giada is a loop machine, sample player and sequencer aimed at DJs, live performers and electronic musicians. It provides a compact environment for constructing music from audio samples and MIDI events, whether preparing an arrangement beforehand or building it during a performance.
The application uses channels to hold samples, MIDI data and musical actions. Performers can trigger material through the computer keyboard or an external controller, record their actions and subsequently refine the result. Its workflow combines immediate performance controls with more detailed editing facilities, avoiding the complexity of a conventional digital audio workstation.
This is free and open source software.
