SpectrumOS – Arch-based Linux distribution with Hyprland

SpectrumOS is an Arch Linux-based distribution offering a customised Hyprland desktop. Designed for everyday computing, development and gaming, it combines a keyboard-driven Wayland environment with integrated desktop utilities and a colourful visual design.

One of its distinguishing features is dynamic theming. Changing the wallpaper automatically updates the colour scheme across the desktop, including the shell, widgets, terminals and supported applications.

The distribution also provides convenient access to system controls, multimedia features, productivity tools and gaming utilities. Its integrated widgets are designed to reduce the need to navigate multiple configuration applications.

What's a Linux distribution ("distro")?

A distro provides the user with a desktop environment, preloaded applications, and ways to update and maintain the system.

Each distro makes different choices, deciding which open source projects to install and provides custom written programs. They can have different philosophies.

Some distros are intended for desktop computers, some for servers without a graphical interface, and others for special uses. Because Linux is an open source operating system, combinations of software vary between Linux distros.
