Minase

Minase – SIXEL-based terminal file manager

Last Updated on September 26, 2020

Summary

Minase works well. It’s relatively easy to use once you’ve learned the keyboard shortcuts. Confine your mouse to the side.

Minase has been in development for about a year, without an official release. It has attracted little interest in the Linux community. That’s a shame, as with a few more features it could be interesting to many terminal fans.

We love the image previews which let you view high-quality images inside your terminal. However overall, functionality is (currently) fairly limited. And it’s a shadow of our favorite console file managers: nnn, Midnight Commander, Ranger, and lf.

But Minase is one we’ll watch.
