Open-Sankore – interactive whiteboard

Open-Sankoré is an open source interactive white board that uses a free standard format compatible with any projector and pointing device.

With an ergonomic interface, it combines the simplicity of traditional teaching tools with the advantages provided by teaching ICTs.

Open-Sankoré is based on the Uniboard software originally developed at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.

Features include:

• 4 modes: Board mode (default) with six areas, Document mode bringing together all elements related to managing pages, Web mode providing lots of browsing options, and Desktop mode allows users to make notes and to navigate through your machine. The Desktop mode also allows users to capture images and to display the virtual keyboard.
• Comment, draw, and highlight.
• Import flash animations, images, audio, videos, or by including existing .pdf or .ppt documents.
• Embed dynamic content into a course: apps from widgets, Wikipedia, or Google Maps.
• Tools for the different phases of a lesson.
• Share resources by publishing them in .PDF document form, as podcasts, or on the web
• Create “apps” to give more flexibility. Creating those Apps is very easy for someone that has basic knowledge of web programming (html, xml, javascript, css).
