Cairo-Dock – desktop interface

Cairo-Dock is an attractive, lightweight eye-candy dock to launch your applications. It has a family-likeness with the OS X dock, but with more options.

Cairo-Dock uses Cairo / OpenGL to render graphics (in correlation with Compiz) with full hardware acceleration. It is fully configurable and fully customisable and can be used as a taskbar too. It is compatible with Compiz-Fusion, Beryl, Compiz, Metacity, Kwin, Xcompmgr, etc., but it can also run without a composite manager (using fake transparency). Cairo-Dock can run under desktop environments including GNOME, KDE and Xfce.

You can easily add applets in the dock or as a desklet.
