Music
Music is a fairly no-frills music player. It can play FLAC, MP3 and other music file formats. From the hamburger icon, we can view by artists, albums, genres, tracks, playlists, or files. It has support for album art as well as shuffle and repeat playback. There’s a search feature too.
Unusually for a music app, there’s no option to define the music folder(s); the software looks in ~/Music. But if you don’t want to store songs in the Music directory, just create some symlinks (using the ln command). The only settings option is the ability to keep the screen on while music is played (the default is off).
If you’re a fan of classical music you’ll be disappointed that there’s no support for gapless playback.
