Musicalypse – audio player and server built with Web technologies

Last Updated on September 1, 2020

Streaming Server

One of the main features of Musicalypse is the ability to stream your music collection to any device. This can be a web browser running on a local PC, single-board computer, a tablet, as well a mobile phone.

All you need to do is point your web browser at https://localhost:8080. Replace localhost with the IP address of the machine hosting the server. The Settings tab gives you that IP address, although there’s many other ways of obtaining that address.

Here’s an image of accessing music with Musicalypse on an Android phone.

Musicalypse can operate behind a standard Web server (including Apache and Nginx), and you can add authentication and SSL. So you can access your music wherever you are in the world (assuming it’s got a net connection).
