mpz – open source music player

Memory Usage

mpz - memory usage

Remember that musikcube (my favorite CLI-based music player) and cmus are command-line music players. It’s therefore unsurprising their memory footprints are the leanest among the group.

mpz’s memory usage is pretty conservative even among graphical music players that don’t use bloated frameworks like Electron. It’s nowhere near as frugal as Qmmp (which like mpz is written in C++ and uses the Qt toolkit).
