Memory Usage
Here’s a chart showing how HBud fares against a variety of music players from a memory consumption perspective.
As you can see, HBud occupies the middle ground. Given that it doesn’t use the bloated Electron framework, we weren’t expecting it to be a memory hog. But it’s not as lean as some graphical music players such as Qmmp, Pragha, LXMusic, or Sayonara. Whether an extra 100MB of RAM usage is important depends on your requirements, and the amount of RAM installed in your machine.
We haven’t extensively tested memory usage when playing video files. Let us know your findings in the comments section below.
