Gemini – audio player with wallpaper changer

Last Updated on September 1, 2020

Gemini is an interesting curio combining a basic audio player with a wallpaper changer. It consumes far too much memory, and lacks essential features such as gapless playback. Some of the functionality didn’t function on my system such as the wallpaper spider, and hidden buttons for accessing playlist management. And the playlist implementation is truly miserable.

Enter cinema mode and the wallpaper/audio combination might be appealing.

Gemini has attracted only a handful of GitHub stars. The software is in active development, and only saw its first release 1 year ago. I’ll keep an eye on developments, as it’s currently very much a work-in-progress.

The software is written in C++ with some Python too. Want to learn C++ and/or Python? Check out 14 Excellent Free Books to Learn C++, and 46 Excellent Free Books to Learn Python.
