ErgenOS is an Arch Linux-based distribution that aims to provide an approachable desktop experience, with an emphasis on gaming, system reliability and recovery. It follows Arch Linux’s rolling release model and uses its software repositories.
The distribution features a customised GNOME desktop with its own visual theme, a graphical installer and a collection of system management utilities. It uses the Linux Zen kernel and offers an installation process designed to reduce the configuration normally associated with Arch Linux.
ErgenOS places particular emphasis on system recovery through Btrfs snapshots. It also provides graphical tools for managing updates, configuring hardware and optionally installing gaming software.

What's a Linux distribution ("distro")? |
| A distro provides the user with a desktop environment, preloaded applications, and ways to update and maintain the system. Each distro makes different choices, deciding which open source projects to install and provides custom written programs. They can have different philosophies. Some distros are intended for desktop computers, some for servers without a graphical interface, and others for special uses. Because Linux is an open source operating system, combinations of software vary between Linux distros. |
