ASUSTOR AS5402T

Asustor Nimbustor 2 Gen2 AS5402T Review

Power Consumption

The Settings / Hardware section in ADM lets you make changes to energy control. We can set a time period for internal and external disks to enter hibernation mode if there’s no access within the time period specified. We can choose from Never, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 60 minutes. And we can force the NAS into Sleep Mode S3 (Suspend to RAM). The time period for Sleep mode can set to Never, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, or 120 minutes. There’s also the option to specify the hours of the day in which the NAS is able to enter Sleep Mode.

The Power section lets you enable EuP (Energy Using Product) Mode. And there’s the option to disable Wake on LAN (WOL) and Wake on WAN (WOW) which will also make a very minor reduction in power consumption.

Even though electricity prices are falling in the UK, power consumption is still an important consideration for many companies and households. This NAS is an efficient device. The power consumption figures in the table below reflect our NAS is populated with 2 x 6TB 7200RPM hard disk and 2 x NVMe SSD.
