TEAMGROUP X1 Max Flash Drive

TEAMGROUP X1 MAX 512GB USB 3.2 Gen 2 Flash Drive Review

Summary

In terms of flash drives, the TEAMGROUP X1 Max offers hugely impressive sequential read and write performance. Performance is better when using USB-C compared to USB-A particularly for small files. The NUC offers USB 3.2 Gen 2 for both its USB-C and USB-A ports. And lots of hardware supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 unlike USB 3.2 Gen 2×2.

I strongly recommend this flash drive. It’s competitively priced and offers excellent performance for its class. I might even try booting single board computers and mini PCs from the drive, as it will offer a huge improvement even though they don’t have USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports.

I would have preferred a retractable dual design but that’s a minor quibble. And there’s no hardware encryption available, although software encryption works fine.
