Automad is a flat-file content management system and template engine.
Automad ships with an intuitive and clean user interface called the Dashboard.
Automad is free and open source software.
Key Features
- Dashboard with block editor and in-page edit mode. Configure system settings, upload images, install themes or write a blog post by using a clean and responsive user interface. The block editor provides an intuitive editing experience and enables editors to freely compose a post from several blocks.
- Content is stored in human readable text files which makes it easy to put a whole site under version control.
- Searching and tagging.
- Works out of the box. It includes two elegant portfolio and blog themes. In case you are missing a feature, Automad is designed to be easily extendable.
- Advanced multi-layer caching engine.
- Flexible template engine which lets you create your own professional templates.
- Headless mode; access content via a read-only JSON API. Activating the headless mode turns Automad into a back-end only content management system without a presentation layer that focuses entirely on content creation.
- Highly configurable.
