Morinus – traditional astrology software

Morinus is an astrology application with a strong emphasis on traditional astrological techniques. It uses the Swiss Ephemeris and offers detailed natal calculations together with an extensive collection of predictive methods.

A current continuation, Morinus Special Edition, updates the application for Python 3 and wxPython 4 while retaining the established calculations. It supports a dozen house systems together with primary directions, profections, returns, synastry and numerous traditional techniques.

The software also includes specialised calculations for fixed stars, Arabic parts, antiscia, planetary hours, dignities and almutens. Its interface is available in several languages.

This is free and open source software.

• Calculate natal, horary, electional and mundane charts using the Swiss Ephemeris and multiple house systems.
• Calculate primary directions using Placidus, Regiomontanus and Campanus methods.
• Work with annual and monthly profections, Firdaria and solar, lunar and planetary returns.

• Use GeoNames and an integrated location database for geographical data.
• Switch between English, Spanish, Hungarian, Italian, French and Russian interfaces.
