Parallel XZ (PXZ) is a compression utility that takes advantage of running LZMA compression of different parts of an input file on multiple cores and processors simultaneously.
Its main goal is to use all system resources to speed up compression time with minimal possible influence on compression ratio.
The compression time using a single threaded PXZ is equivalent to an ordinary usage of the XZ compression utility.
Key Features
- Auto-detects cores of the system and runs as many threads as permitted by the system.
- Seeks to use the same options available to XZ.
- Choose the number of threads to run simultaneously
