JGR, pronounced Jaguar, is a graphical user interface for R that provides an integrated environment for statistical computing and interactive programming.
The application offers an alternative to the standard R console by combining command execution with source editing, data inspection and documentation tools. Its desktop interface helps users move between writing commands, exploring their workspace and reviewing the results of statistical operations.
JGR has a long history in the R ecosystem. It was introduced at the useR! conference in 2004 and subsequently developed into a general-purpose interface intended to work across different desktop operating systems.
The software also provides a graphical foundation for Deducer, which adds menu-driven data manipulation and statistical analysis tools.
