Orange Pi RV2 Single Board Computer Running Linux: orangepi-config

System submodule

orange-pi-config

  • Install – this lets you boot from eMMc, boot from SPI (system on SATA, USB, or NVMe). We can also install/update the bootloader on SD/eMMc, and install/update the bootloader on SPI Flash.
  • Bootenv – edit the u-boot environment.
  • CPU – set the CPU speed and governor. Set the minimum CPU speed, and set the CPU governor. The latter lets you choose between conservative, ondemand, userspace, powersave, performance, and schedutil.
  • Avahi – installs the Avahi sub-module. Avahi is a free, LGPL implementation of DNS Service Discovery (DNS-SD RFC 6763) over Multicast DNS (mDNS RFC 6762), commonly known as and compatible with Apple Bonjour primarily targeting Linux.
  • Toggle hardware configuration: can0, i2c3, i2c4, lcd pwm7, pwm9, spi3-cs0-spidev, uart5, uart8, and uart9.
  • Configure sshd – options to allow root login, password authentication, pubkey authentifcation, and phone authentication (Google two-sep authentication).
  • Firmware – performs a general system update.
  • ZSH – Switches your shell to ZSH, a powerful and customizable Unix shell. It’s designed to be both an interactive shell for users to interact with their computer and a scripting language interpreter for automating tasks. Zsh is built upon the Bourne shell and includes features from other shells like Bash, Korn shell, and C shell.
  • Desktop – Gives you the option to stop and disable the service. On my Ubuntu system this didn’t boot the system to the console as expected. Instead, the system still boots to the desktop.
