Summary
We like Spotube with some reservations.
It’s a good client for Spotify Premium users and offers a real alternative to the semi-official client. Thumbs up for the gapless playback and lyrics implementation.
There are areas that need improvement though. For example, we tried Spotube on a few systems, each of which exhibited problems playing our liked tracks. We also experienced a number of playback problems particularly with playlists and albums which sometimes don’t start playing.
The search functionality is also fairly mediocre.
Overall, Spotube is a work-in-progress. We’ll be following its development closely.
