PluriOS is an open-source project that aims to standardize a Linux desktop environment for Bolivia. The distribution is supported by several Bolivian free software communities, such as Nucleo Linux Bolivia, and benefits from the advantages of the Linux ecosystem, including frequent updates and community support.
The distribution is based on Ubuntu LTS.
This Linux distribution has two versions:
- Edición Productiva – it offers a kit of essential productivity tools: Firefox browser, LibreOffice office suite, tools for audio, video, images and PDF documents, among others.
- Edición Aymara – it offers a system with translation into the Aymara language using the Pro edition base.

What's a Linux distribution ("distro")? |
| A distro provides the user with a desktop environment, preloaded applications, and ways to update and maintain the system. Each distro makes different choices, deciding which open source projects to install and provides custom written programs. They can have different philosophies. Some distros are intended for desktop computers, some for servers without a graphical interface, and others for special uses. Because Linux is an open source operating system, combinations of software vary between Linux distros. |
