tnftp (formerly lukemftp) is an FTP client for Unix-like operating systems.
tnftp is based on the original BSD FTP client, and is the default FTP client included with NetBSD, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, DragonFly BSD, Darwin, and MidnightBSD.
tnftp is free and open source software.
Features include:
- Server-side tab completion.
- Command-line editing.
- Command-line fetches of FTP and HTTP URLs (including via HTTP proxies and authentication). Supports using CONNECT for https:// via proxy.
- Command-line uploads of FTP URLs.
- Context sensitive command and filename completion.
- Dynamic progress bar.
- Extensions to ftp from the IETF ftpext working group.
- IPv6 support.
- Modification time preservation.
- Paging of local and remote files, and of directory listings.
- Passive mode support (with fallback to active mode).
