  • Chordpack
    Chordpack is a tool written in Perl, whose purpose is to typeset song-books/songs written in chordpro format. The typesetting is done through typesetting system TeX using macro package LaTeX.
  • eTktab
    eTktab edits 4/5/6/7 string ASCII tablature. Features: 30 fretboard positions available via single keypress, lyrics, expression marks, etc.
  • GChord
    GChord is a small app that lists guitar chords, and then represents a selected one on a fret board.
  • Gnometab
    Gnometab is a Guitar tablature editor for the GNOME desktop environment. Gnometab's features include copying and pasting of tablature passages, a chord library (which the user must fill with chords), professional-looking rhythm notation (not perfect yet), the ability to create a variety of tablature symbols specific to the guitar -- bends, slurs (hammer-ons, pull-offs, etc.), etc. -- and, of course, clean-looking printed output, given any postscript-compatible printer.
  • GNUitar
    GNUitar is a program for real-time sound effect processing. You can use it to add some distortion to your guitar, or some reverb to your voice. Available effects are: 2 kinds of distortion, sustain, various flavors of reverb, echo & delay, chorus/flanger, equalizer, noise reduction, wah-wah, phasor, tremolo, and vibrato.
  • Gstring
    Gstring is a guitar tuning application written in C using the GTK+ toolkit and FFTW for its fourier transform. A non-GUI version called "string" is included so you can run this without GTK or GtkDatabox.
  • gTune
    gTune is an instrument tuner for GNOME. There is a compact very simple interface.
  • Guitar Mode Maker
    (shareware) Guitar Mode Maker helps the guitar player learn scales, modes, chords, and create new scales.
  • K3Guitune
    K3Guitune lets you tune a musical instrument using your computer and its microphone. It takes the microphone input, determines its frequency, and displays where on the note scale that is using an oscilloscope and a note scale graphic. K3Guitune supports three different tunings: normal, Wien and physical.
  • KChords
    KChords is program which will help to learn the guitar chords. It comes with a set of most commonly used chords and allows you to add new ones. All the chords are represented in graphical, easy to understand way.
  • KGuitar
    KGuitar is a powerful KDE-based music tabulature editor with support of guitar, drums, classic note scores, MIDI synthesizer output, chord, scales, modes, melody and rhythm construction and analysis tools, lots of tab effects, Guitar Pro 4 files import.
  • KGuiTune
    KGuiTune is a KDE application for tuning guitars (or even other instruments).
  • KTabEdit
    KTabEdit is a guitar tablature editor for KDE. It includes many effects and classical note score editing for classic instrument players, customizable MIDI to tablature import and export, support for extra data formats (such as ASCII tablature or Guitar Pro/TablEdit), chord fingering construction tools, a chord finder, and a chord analyzer. It is highly customizable to suit a lot of possible instruments (not only 6-stringed guitars, and even not only guitars), including drum tracks, lyrics, and other MIDI events.
  • pyFretCalc
    pyFretCalc is a handy little fret spacing calculator for luthiers (Guitar makers). Simply enter the scale length you want and how many frets, then click on calculate.
  • StompBoxes
    StompBoxes is a real-time audio effects processor designed for guitar under Linux. It is written in C using gtk+ for the graphical user interface. The sound is processed in 16 bit at a rate of 44100Hz.
