Picture Grid Picture Grid allows you to stitch pictures into a random grid/puzzle/maze. PyGTK is required. Picwiz Picwiz is a simple picture resizing wizard that is meant to be called from a Konqueror context menu. It allows batch resizing of any number of files to standard sizes (640x480, 800x600 ...) in three or four mouse clicks. Pixel (commercial) Pixel is a RGB, CMYK and HDR image editing, photo retouching, graphics manipulating and animation program available for many operating systems including Linux. It has been developed since 1997. Read more Pixelize Pixelize is a program that will use many scaled down images to try to duplicate, as closely as possible, another image. pngnq pngnq is a tool for quantizing PNG images in RGBA format. It is an adaptation of pnqquant using the neuquant algorithm. pngquant pngquant is a command-line utility to quantize and dither 32-bit RGBA PNGs down to 8-bit (or smaller) RGBA-palette PNGs, usually with a significant reduction in file size. pnmstitch pnmstitch allows you to automatically stitch, transform, blend, and crop two pnm images together. It supports low overlap, high resolution Digital Camera images, primarily with a focus on heuristics to improve the quality of the match. PosteRazor The PosteRazor cuts a raster image into pieces which can afterwards be printed out and assembled to a poster. potrace potrace is a utility for tracing a bitmap, which means, transforming a bitmap into a smooth, scalable image. The input is a bitmap (PBM, PGM, PPM, or BMP format), and the default output is an encapsulated PostScript file (EPS). A typical use is to create EPS files from scanned data, such as company or university logos, handwritten notes, etc. The resulting image is not "jaggy" like a bitmap, but smooth. It can then be rendered at any resolution. potrace can currently produce the following output formats: EPS, PostScript, PDF, SVG (scalable vector graphics), Xfig, Gimppath, and PGM (for easy antialiasing). potracegui potracegui is a GUI interface for potrace, a great program for tracing bitmapped images. ppmcaption ppmcaption adds text to images. Multiple blocks of text can be placed on the image, with varying fonts, font sizes, colors, and transparency. PRICE PRICE can open several file formats and apply high quality filters and other enhancements to the image. Qtpfsgui Qtpfsgui is a graphical user interface that enables users to work on HDR images. Supported operations include: creations of a HDR file from a set of images of a scene taken at different exposure settings, tone-mapping an HDR image into a common LDR image format (e.g JPEG or PNG), and loading, saving, and rotating existing HDR images. In some ways, the program is a open source clone of Photomatix. QuikKopy QuikKopy is an image copying utility written in Perl. It makes use of the graphics library ImageMagick to allow image manipulation to be applied in bulk to multiple images. RPhoto RPhoto is a small software aiming at the easy handling of digital camera's photos. Its origin resides in the lack of a simple software capable of cropping photos with a constant ratio, to avoid white borders when printing. Scale2x Scale2x is real-time graphics effect able to increase the size of small bitmaps guessing the missing pixels without interpolating pixels and blurring the images. It was originally developed for the AdvanceMAME project in the year 2001 to improve the quality of old games with a low video resolution. Derivative Scale3x and Scale4x effects which scale the image of 3x and 4x are also available. Scan Tailor Scan Tailor is an interactive post-processing tool for scanned pages. It performs operations such as page splitting, deskewing, adding/removing borders, and others. SDSC Image Tools The San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) Image Tools are programs that allow for command line manipulation of images, and conversion between image formats. There are 24 different tools, each of which support 30 different image file formats. SeBIE Semi-Batched-Image-Editor: input filename selection via regular expressions, create output filename via regular expression and substitution, select image details with a given proportion, scale to a given output format when saving, and apply some color correction. Simple Image Reducer Simple Image Reducer is an GTK application to simple reduce and rotate images. The program can be useful for processing digital photos before sending by e-mail or uploading on the web. SINFG SINFG is a flexible resolution-independent image manipulation package, which allows you to create a wide variety of images including fractals and vector graphics. It consists primarily of two programs: SINFG Studio and SINFG Tool. SmillaEnlarger SmillaEnlarger is an easy-to-use digital photo-enlarger: choose a region of the original image, select a zoom factor (or width/height of the result), and calculate the picture. Stamp STAMP is an image time stamp program released under the GNU Public License. It places customizable text messages (such as dates, times, or witty quotes) as color strings onto JPEG images. SVGSlice SVGSlice is a plugin for the vector graphics program, Inkscape, which allows a high-quality SVG image to be directly sliced into bitmap graphics for a website. It does this using Inkscape's built-in layers and rectangles, so that you can visually draw where you want slicing to be done, directly from within the program. thumbnail thumbnail resizes images down to a maximum of 10,000 pixels (equivalent to a 100x100 image), so that each thumbnail has the same amount of detail, reguardless of its dimensions. Tint Photo Editor Tint Photo Editor is a photo editor for colour-select effects. It automatically clusters the colours of a photo into groups, and allows each colour to be switched on or off to create the desired effect. TkPNG This package implements support for loading and using PNG images with Tcl/Tk. Transparency Transparency is a tool for special, typical tasks performed on transparent PNGs, especially in the context of the WWW when you finally want GIFs instead of PNGs. Trimage Trimage is a cross-platform GUI and command-line interface to optimize image files via optipng, pngcrush, advpng and jpegoptim, depending on the filetype (currently, PNG and JPG files are supported). UIM UIM stands for 'UNIX Image Manager'. It is an attempt of bringing the AIM ('Atari Image Manger') to the UNIX world. With UIM one can resize and filter images. One can also multiply, add, etc. etc. images with other images or a given value. UIM is meant for advanced image processing. Urban Lightscape Urban Lightscape is a photo filter for exposure correction, localized brightness adjustments, dodging and burning, and the introduction of synthetic lighting to a photo. VideoOrbits VideoOrbits is a collection of programs for creating high dynamic range images. VIPS VIPS is a free image processing system. It aims to be about half-way between Photoshop and Excel: it is very bad at retouching photographs, but very handy for the many other imaging tasks that programs like Photoshop get used for. It is good with large images (images larger than the amount of RAM in your machine), and for working with colour. VRPE VRPE is a small gtk2-gui project to process multiple single image files using ImageMagick, mplayer and transcode. xacte An interactive X window program which may be used to create and edit groups of colors. Xenomorph Image Processor Xenomorph Image Processor provides a unified concept of polynomial and morphologic image filters. It is built for precision, not for speed, that means it works in floating-point mode internally.
