9 First Steps with Ubuntu 15.04
One of the first things to do with a new release of Ubuntu is to check for updates. Typically, I won't upgrade to the latest release immediately, so there's always quite a few updates since the release. There's a handy Software Updater tool which makes the updating process painless.

    KBoggle is a Boggle game for KDE. Boggle is a game in which the players must make words out of the letters found in a randomly generated grid of letters. The goal is to find as many words as possible in the given time.
  • Lexter
    Lexter is a real-time word puzzle for text terminals. Arrange the falling letters into words to score points.
  • Multiplication Puzzle
    Multiplication Puzzle is a simple GTK+ 2 game that emulates the multiplication game found in Emacs. Basically, a multiplication problem is shown with all digits replaced by letters. Your job is to guess which letter represents which number.
  • Net-o-Grama
    Net-o-Grama is a networked anagram game, which can be played by up to 4 players, but playing alone is also supported.
  • Pynagram
    Pynagram is a simple anagram game in which you must unjumble as many words as you can from seven jumbled letters.

    Quackey is a somewhat simplified but mostly feature-complete version of the Perquackey anagram word-building game. It runs in an xterm, Gnome terminal, or on the console.

    Sakreble! is an open word game. It will be strongly configurable, with ability to create your own gameboards, letter sets and values and even rules.
  • TickleTux Hangman
    TickleTux Hangman aims to bring computer Hangman into the modern age. It's planned capabilities include skinning, hi-scores and network play. The source code and graphics are released under GPL.
  • tkhangman
    tkhangman is a Hangman game written in tcl/tk. New pictures and dictionary, and some error handling.
  • Wordsearch Puzzle Maker
    This program reads uppercase words (one per line) from standard input and hopefully emits a wordseach puzzle containing those words to stdout.
  • yawl
    yawl is a comprehensive "word game" word list for UNIX/Linux. It is a superset of the author's ENABLE list, the OSW, and various lists.
