Community Builder (CB) is a popular open source social networking solution that offers the tools and usability needed to grow and maintain a website community.

The CB suite is in essence a set of extensions (component, modules, plugins) that enhance and add new functionality to the underlining supported content management systems (Joomla and Mambo).

You can network with other members and send messages, upload images, comment on content, create content and it is free.

  • Ability to specify whether a field is optional or required, publicly viewable or not, required during registration or not
  • Specification of which Joomla/Mambo User Groups are permitted to view user profiles
