Well it helps..but no you dont have to have static IP

You will be able to connect to more seeds if you do and have the correct ports forwarded thru, but since the client updates the tracker site at random intervals it shouldnt matter

You will download a hell of alot faster if you have the correct ports forwarded and have a static IP, if not dont sweat it, it will just take a little longer is all
