do you have a firewall program running..that might be what is asking for the password...in order to activate and modify IPTABLES

you can use ClarkConnect

Its based on CentOS which is RHEL that is has all the RH proprietary stuff pulled out

Its crazy easy to setup!

Do you have another user built in?

Try getting the "pump" command..then you can use the

"sudo pump" command in a terminal and that should work...but I have no idea why it isnt getting a dhcp ad ...

You should be able to put linux on that drive with no problems..

I recommend Ubuntu since its a very user friendly distro w/ many followers that can offer assistance and tech support if needed

Can you use VLC media player??

Might just be a codec problem...see if you can locate video codecs for linux out there...that might fix your prob
