• VFS
  Virtual File System. It's the abstraction layer between the user and real filesystems like ext2, minix and msdos. Amongst other things, its job is to flush the read buffer when it detects a disk change on the floppy disk drive

  Vim is a text editor that is upwards compatible to vi. It can be used to edit any ASCII text. It is especially useful for editing programs.

  A way of reducing clutter on your screen by expanding the available space beyond the actual screen boundaries

  A memory-management technique that enables programs to appear to utilize more memory than is physically available
   
• VMS
  DEC's proprietary operating system for its VAX minicomputer
   
• VRML
  Virtual Reality Modeling Language: a means of specifying three-dimensional environments, primarily used for web sites
   
• VT100
  A standard terminal type supported by many computer systems. Telnet programs emulate this type of terminal in order to connect to many Internet sites
