Zend Technologies, Inc., the PHP company, today announced that it has secured $20 million in series D funding. The funding round was led by Greylock Partners, which is making its first investment in the company. Zend’s existing investors – Azure Capital Partners, Index Ventures, Intel Capital, Platinum Venture Capital, SAP Ventures and Walden Israel Venture Capital – are also participating in the Series D round.

A U.S. judge has sentenced the owner of a Web site selling pirated software to six years in prison and ordered him to pay more than US$4.1 million in restitution, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) said Friday.

Freescale is shipping what is claimed to be the first commercial Magnetoresistive Random Access Memory (MRAM) chip. MRAM, which combines magnetic materials with conventional silicon circuitry, can deliver RAM-like speeds, flash-like nonvolatility, and unlimited "endurance," according to the company.
