SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) Yahoo is quadrupling the amount of storage provided with its free e-mail accounts and upgrading its desktop search software in its ongoing duel with rivals Google and Microsoft.

Today is apparently eBay's 10th birthday. USAToday had an interesting story on it, so I decided to include it.

id Software's DOOM 3 has been ported to the Mac. Unfortunately, Mac performance will limit who can play it.

Aspyr Media this week released Doom 3 for the Mac, a game regarded by some as a major achievement in the industry, with highly realistic graphics, sound, characters and groundbreaking performance features.

Garry Kasparov, the chess world's youngest-ever champion and its public face and undisputed king the last two decades, made a stunning move shortly after winning a prestigious tournament in Spain: He announced his retirement from professional play.
