Fedora 7 released Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version
Thursday, May 31 2007 @ 01:30 PM EDT
Contributed by: sde

Fedora 7, the latest version of the popular community-driven Linux distribution sponsored by Red Hat, was released this morning. This is the first Fedora release to incorporate and unify both the Core and Extra platform components, thus obviating the need for the traditional inclusion of the word "Core" in the distribution's name. This is also the first release to be constructed with Fedora's new build system, which will vastly simplify development of custom versions and derivatives.

Puppy version 2.16 released Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version
Friday, May 18 2007 @ 02:07 AM EDT
Contributed by: sde

Another wonderful new Puppy! The 'standard' release is puppy-2.16-seamonkey-fulldrivers.iso live-CD and is 89.9MB. There is a massive list of new features, which is incredible considering that we have only incremented the version number from 2.14 to 2.16 (with the 2.15 Community Edition in between). New features include the SFS Boot Manager, "humongous initrd", print-to-PDF, flush-RAM-to-Flash, plus a host of new and updated applications developed especially for Puppy.
