OpenOffice.org has released a patch for the recent security hole discovered. Isn't it amazing how quick they released it? :)

All users of OpenOffice.org 1.1.4 are urged to download and install this security patch. It addresses a problem noted in a recent advisory. That advisory states that there is a security risk in all circulating releases of OpenOffice.org. This patch fixes the problem in 1.1.4 but not in earlier or subsequent releases.

A buffer overflow exploit has been discovered in OpenOffice.

The OpenOffice.org community on Tuesday confirmed the existence of a potentially serious heap-overflow vulnerability in its freely distributed office productivity suite.

If the stars align...and you are using Firefox 1.0 or earlier, you might be vunerable to a javascript bug. However, if you are using the latest versions of Firefox, you are ok. Meanwhile, Mozilla is working on a final patch.

A flaw has been discovered in the popular open-source browser Firefox that could expose sensitive information stored in memory, Secunia has warned.
